Hay has had the honour of being twinned with Timbuktu for over 13 years. You will spot examples of the exquisite leatherwork of Tuareg artisans in both houses. Do visit the HayMakers Cooperative in town, where you can buy fabulous silver jewellery made by their silversmiths. In doing so, you will support food and water security initiatives with three Tuareg communities, which we are still actively involved in, despite all the challenges that continue for the Malian people.
